North London Speech & Language Therapy

Every child has something to say, in their own unique way.

At Words & Wonders, I support children to communicate, connect, express themselves and feel understood.

I provide warm, playful and personalised Speech and Language Therapy primarily within schools and educational settings across North London

Every child has their own way of communicating

Communication is about so much more than words.

It can be talking, listening, understanding, playing, gesturing, using signs or other forms of communication, sharing ideas, connecting with others and expressing how we feel.

Sometimes children need a little extra support to find the ways of communicating that work best for them.

You might be wondering…

My child isn't talking as much as I expected.
People find it difficult to understand my child.
My child knows what they want to say, but struggles to express it.
My child becomes frustrated when they can't communicate.
My child finds it difficult to understand instructions or conversations.
My child finds playing or communicating with other children tricky.
I'm just not sure if my child's communication is developing as it should.

Supporting communication where children learn, play and grow

Words & Wonders is a school-based Speech and Language Therapy service supporting children across North London.

Providing therapy within a child’s everyday environment can create meaningful opportunities to practise communication in the places where children naturally learn, play and connect with others.

I work closely with children, families and school staff to make sure support is practical, personalised and meaningful.

School-based therapy

Therapy takes place primarily within schools and educational settings, helping children develop communication skills within the environment where they learn, play and spend much of their day.

Working together

I work collaboratively with children, families, teachers and SENCOs to help create consistent, practical support around the child.

Meaningful communication

Therapy focuses on helping children communicate in ways that are meaningful to them — from expressing their needs and sharing ideas to understanding others, joining in and feeling confident communicating.

About me

Helping every child find their way to communication

I’m Amna, a paediatric Speech and Language Therapist and the person behind Words & Wonders.

I believe every child communicates in their own way, and that understanding the child behind the communication is just as important as understanding their speech or language needs.

My approach is warm, responsive and individualised, with therapy shaped around each child’s strengths, interests and individual needs.

Growing communication through play

Children learn best when they feel safe, engaged and understood.

Through play, interaction and activities that are meaningful to each child, I create opportunities for communication to grow.

Therapy can include both playful and structured activities, carefully chosen around each child’s goals and the skills they are working towards.

Child-centred Playful & purposeful Evidence-informed

Small steps. Meaningful progress.

Together we can build the skills your child needs, such as:
It might be a new sound.
Finding the words to ask for help.
Understanding an instruction.
Joining a game.
Sharing an idea.
Having a conversation.
Finding a new way to communicate.
Or simply feeling more confident being heard.
Every child is different, and every step forward matters.

“We loved our experience working with Words & Wonders! Their team of expert speech and language therapists created a bond with our children and made them feel comfortable. We noticed significant improvements immediately in our kids dealing with speech challenges after a few sessions.”
